The Cistercian abbey of Villers-la-Ville is a jewel of Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Founded in 1146, this magical place in Walloon Brabant, Belgium, opened its doors to us to create this collection of engraved glass candles.
Painted in our workshop with a transparent grey veil, the glass is then hand-engraved with a graphic motif inspired by Art Deco. One loses oneself in the object's appearance, where past and present merge in an aesthetic that is both decorative and unexpected.
The floral fragrance of the Villers candle is inspired by a springtime stroll through the ruins of the Cistercian abbey of Villers-la-Ville. Top notes of hyacinth are enriched by heart and base notes of lily and almond blossom. This gourmand trail gives the candle and its engraved gray glass a delicate and addictive allure.
