Amouage

In 1983, at the request of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sayyid Hamad bin Hamoud al-Busaidi, then Minister of the Royal Court's Diwan, founded the Amouage company with the aim of reviving the Arab tradition of luxury perfumes. Their first fragrance, launched in 1984 under the same name, was created by Guy Robert, a perfumer from Grasse, the French perfume capital.

The fragrance opens with a magical illustration of the purity of osmanthus, enhanced with a blend of apricot, jasmine tea, honey, nutmeg, and cardamom. The heart radiates with a floral accord of Indian Sambac jasmine, abstract flower, freesia, and mimosa. Provence honey is added to underscore the floral aura with dry cedarwood. The luxurious base evokes a mysterious encounter with the brilliance of Iranian saffron and pipe tobacco, blended with bold nuances of leather, vanilla, musk, and cypriol, highlighting the allure of the unknown journey.
