Mysterious and provocative, Synthetic Jungle is a lush, technicolor landscape. A tribute to the iconic perfumes of the 1970s, it depicts a fantastical nature in its own modern and stylized way. And it marks the debut of perfumer Anne Flipo at Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle.
Anne Flipo retained the basil note, which she combined with a bouquet of hyacinth, lily of the valley, jasmine and ylang ylang.
To refine and modernize the whole, she added a note of synthetic blackcurrant and styrallyl acetate: a true filter of brilliance and radiance for the flowers.
She also simplified and refined the original chypre and leather facets. Finally, she introduced a note of patchouli, one of the most complex and evocative ingredients in a perfumer's palette.
