A villa with a view, the sun-drenched Villa Cyrnos welcomed the cream of the crop of a flamboyant early 20th century to its aromatic citrus garden. Queens, poets, and artists gathered there in the shade of fig trees and umbrella pines. Soothed by the air of Roquebrune, where the scents of lavender mingle with the dry aromas of Provence, they enjoyed the gentle way of life so typical of the azure shores of the Mediterranean. In 1894, Empress Eugénie commissioned the construction of Villa Cyrnos, one of the most beautiful villas on Cap Martin on the French Riviera. Its garden cultivates a taste for a mineral, contrasting, and fragrant landscape, a style particularly appreciated by the Empress. Pine trees, emblematic of the Cap, were planted there, as well as olive and fig trees. In this magnificent garden, the Empress entertained the leading figures of European aristocracy, as well as avant-garde artists and intellectuals. Top notes: Lemon, Myrtle, Thyme. Heart notes: Cedar, Black Fig, Lavender, Pine Needles. Base notes: Cashmere Wood, Musk, Patchouli.
