Drawn to the magical landscapes of his native Mexico City, a blend of Aztec, Spanish Colonial, Beaux-Arts, and modern styles, Carlos Huber studied architecture at prestigious universities in Mexico and then in Paris. He completed his studies in New York, graduating with honors in heritage preservation from Columbia University.
A new opportunity to explore the past in depth arose through her involvement in the projects of architect and Columbia University professor Jorge OteroPailos, an artist whose installations analyze the role of the senses, excluding sight, in the interpretation of historical sites.
His lifelong love for perfumery led him to meet perfumer Rodrigo Flores Roux, who took him under his wing. They collaborated with Yann Vasnier, aiming to capture and identify the olfactory notes of historical moments.
