Founded in 2019 by Aurélien Guichard and two partners, Caïus and Cédric Meiffret, Matière Première seeks to perpetuate local and cultural expertise. Aurélien Guichard and his family established an organic (Ecocert*) Centifolia rose farm in the Grasse region. He is the only perfumer to own and produce his own Centifolia rose, giving him unparalleled authenticity in the niche perfume industry.
Santal Austral is a creamy sandalwood fragrance with a powerful sillage, inspired by its central ingredient, Organic Australian Sandalwood Essence. To create Santal Austral Extrait, Aurélien Guichard selected Black Cardamom Absolute from Nepal, developed exclusively for MATIERE PREMIERE, as a guest ingredient, and combined it with a higher concentration of perfume and an even higher dosage of the main natural ingredient.
