Lafayette - Bleu Marine

Decoration
$217.00

An illustrious French officer and politician, Gilbert du Motier entered history as the Marquis de Lafayette (1757-1834). In reaction against the noble system overthrown by the French Revolution, he chose the name Lafayette in 1789, a name that would thus pass down to posterity.

Created in 1790 by Jean-Antoine Houdon, this bust celebrates Lafayette's noble profile, at the height of his career and influence.

In collaboration with the Casting Workshop of the Rmn - Grand Palais.
